LIVE WELL
What's "Living Well" All About?
"In our group we learned that we were a bunch of women who had stopped doing what was necessary to be "whole." We were so busy taking care of every one else that we often forgot to take care of ourselves. We felt guilty for taking time to go to the gym, write in our journal, get a manicure, take in a movie or even stop to plant the roses so we can then stop to smell the roses. That's what the "Living Well" part is about!"

- Buy yourself some flowers or pick some wildflowers.
- Listen to soothing music to change your mood.
- Take a shower or a bath.
- Go for a short walk.

Message from Carol

Today I read a wonderful word from a very special book entitled Surrendering Hunger by Jan Johnson. We were blessed to find this book written many years ago and to make it a part of the Your Whole Life program.
"The road to wholeness is not about conquering, gaining self-control, and becoming sufficient. It’s about surrendering myself to God."
It is about 40 days until Easter Sunday. Many people set these days apart to prepare themselves for the glorious good news of Easter. Others just look forward to Easter and are not particularly interested in “Lent,” as it is called in liturgical churches. But for all of us, the journey to Easter is about surrendering to God. And we do need to make this a prayer of our hearts – “What are You asking of me today, dear Lord? What do I need to give up in order to surrender more to your will for my life?” It can be as practical as giving up chocolate or as difficult as giving up an attitude or a judgment towards someone who has wronged us.
I have to stop thinking about conquering, gaining self-control and becoming sufficient to make myself feel better. That is something I can give up to prepare myself for Easter. I am on the road to wholeness and I invite you to join me.
